RTI, LLC. Approved for Two Loans, Expanding and Adding Jobs
BROOKINGS, S.D. – RTI (Research Technology Innovation), LLC will utilize funding from two loans facilitated by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) to expand it’s present capabilities, add new research space and aid in hiring 10 new full time positions.
“Established in 1994, RTI, LLC continues to thrive in the bio and animal science field,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “It’s always a pleasure to see a grassroots company like RTI successfully grow into a renowned, innovative leader in the industry.”
RTI’s expansion will add approximately 20,000 square feet of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) space, which will be used for animal research and environmental and food safety testing.
“RTI is a company created by SDSU faculty that has taken advantage of the incubation facilities in Brookings over the years,” said Al Heuton, director of Brookings Economic Development Corporation. “We are excited to see that the company has outgrown its space and is investing in a new facility in the community.”
“Our relationship with SDSU, the city of Brookings and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development has been very influential in making RTI the success it’s become,” said Rollie Nevins, chief operating and financial officer. “Partnerships are what grow a startup business into a successful business, and we’ve been very fortunate to have those kinds of connections. Access to government leaders, low-interest financing programs and a university has created an unbeatable packaged deal.”
RTI’s expansion will happen in the Telkamp Industrial Park later this spring. For more information on RTI and other GOED financing programs, visit www.4rtilab.com
