Simon Bailey to be Keynote Speaker at Economic Development Conference

The GOED announces that Simon Bailey will be the keynote speaker at the 2017 Governor's Economic Development Conference, slated for April 26 in Sioux Falls. 

Bailey will discuss making preparations for the future, and how to look past current conditions in today's fast-paced world. 

Other conference topics will include: Workforce data and surveys, using South Dakota's best-selling points, and long-term planning for your economic development organization.

GOED Welcomes Two to Staff

Scott Amundson Amy Gabriel
The GOED recently announced that Scott Amundson will be joining our research and community development division as a Community Development Representative, and Amy Gabriel will be joining the marketing division as a Marketing Outreach Specialist.

Amundson's previous role was as the Executive Director of the Britton-based Glacial Lakes Area Development. Gabriel previously was part of the GOED's research and community development division.

"Scott brings in a set of skills and knowledge in economic and community development that will be a real asset to our team," said GOED Commissioner Scott Stern.

"Amy is already a proven asset to our office. Although she will be missed in research, her energy and organization will be a big benefit to the marketing team as well. I'm excited to see her thrive in her new role," Stern said.
