ABERDEEN, S.D. – Lt. Gov. Matt Michels announced today at the Aberdeen Development Corporation annual meeting that Whitewood Park in Aberdeen has been approved as a South Dakota Certified Ready Site.
“Whitewood Park is Aberdeen’s first site to be designated as a South Dakota Certified Ready Site,” said Lt. Gov. Michels. “The Aberdeen Development Corporation (ADC) understands the value of promoting commercial and industrial sites that are development-ready. Providing a potential buyer with information on South Dakota Certified Ready Sites allows the buyer to make a more informed and educated decision when deciding to buy. Thank you to the ADC for its commitment to economic development.”
“The Certified Ready Sites program provides an additional tool for our corporation to utilize when attracting prospects. It assures companies that the proper research and precautions have been taken when evaluating a piece of property for their company,” said Chris Haar, interim executive vice president of the Aberdeen Development Corporation. “The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) has been helpful every step of the way. We appreciate their leadership and commitment to this program.”
The South Dakota Certified Ready Sites Program is an economic development tool available to all counties, cities, townships, planning districts, business improvement districts and developers.
The South Dakota Certified Ready Sites Program is operated under the supervision of the GOED for the purpose of providing consistent information on sites available throughout the state. For more information on the South Dakota Certified Ready Sites program, visit www.sdreadytopartner.com
