Watertown Site Approved as a South Dakota Certified Ready Site

PIERRE, S.D. – Pat Costello, Commissioner, Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), announced today that the Mallard Pointe Business Park, Interstate Office Addition in Watertown, S.D. has been approved as a South Dakota Certified Ready Site.
“This is the second year Watertown has applied and been approved for a South Dakota Certified Ready Site,” said Costello. “The Watertown Development Company understands the value this program brings to its community. I appreciate Watertown’s continued commitment to economic development.”
“Certification of the Mallard Pointe Business Park is a key step in the Watertown Development Corporation’s efforts to enhance its competitive position in the site selection process, providing the most comprehensive information available to site selectors and the GOED,” said Craig Atkins, president of the Watertown Development Corporation. “Providing shovel-ready land with the Certified Ready Site program offers companies a streamlined opportunity to expedite their decision making process without delay.”
The South Dakota Certified Ready Sites Program is an economic development tool available to all counties, cities, townships, planning districts, business improvement districts and economic development groups.
