PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard has awarded more than $1.2 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to five projects throughout South Dakota. Aberdeen, Fort Pierre, Huron, Mellette and Phillip will use the approved monies to help fund projects totaling almost $2.3 million.“As part of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development’s Bulldoze, Build and Beautify (BBB) program, a portion of this round of funding will assist communities in removing dilapidated and blighted properties that pose a risk to the community’s health and safety,” said Gov. Daugaard. “Our funding programs assist a lot of people, but the programs that have the greatest impact are those that improve the quality of life for our residents, and I’m pleased that through this round we’re able to do that again.”The CDBG awards include the following:
